ONE of the best literary festivals in the world, Bali’s Ubud Writers and Readers Festival, is on again from October 7 to 11.
 The beautiful hinterland centre of Ubud would have to be one of the most enchanting and creative venues to host a literary festival. Ubud is Bali’s arts, crafts and cultural mecca – and boasts some of the best restaurants and hotels in Indonesia.
Since its inception six years ago, the festival has attracted world-class writers from around the globe as well as an international audience. The festival is now officially ranked as one of the six best literary festivals in the world. The festival has grown and developed into an internationally-recognised forum that fosters a global conversation and provides a platform for writers from Indonesia and around the world to share their ideas and perspectives on current issues.
